SLT’s 20th Anniversary Event
Join the celebrations on 8 December!
No need to book, simply turn up.
You are invited to join Stuart Low Trust’s special 20th anniversary celebration event on Friday 8 December. We are combining this event with celebration of Christmas and the wonderful work of our volunteers without whom SLT could not run.
You will hear the first public performance of our new SLT song ‘Guiding Star‘, composed by two talented songwriters, SLT staff Jay Serrao and Adam Wilson, to celebrate our 20th anniversary. The song’s theme is about bringing the light of hope in the dark times of our lives. The song will be performed by the SLT Choir, who will also lead us in a fun Christmas Carol’s singalong!
Our SLT team members Cady Stone and Frances Whitehouse have created these wonderful art works to accompany the ‘Guiding Star’ song.
About the Stuart Low Trust – A lifeline in the community
Our charity was founded in memory of Stuart Low, who tragically took his own life when he was only 27 years old. His family believed that he couldn’t find the right help at the right time. They wanted to offer a service that is radically different from other mental health support to reduce social isolation: out-of-hours, open to everyone and embedded in the community. SLT has grown from Friday evening events, run by dedicated volunteers, to offer up to 200 social activities per year through 3 programmes Arts, Nature and Wellbeing supported by a team of staff alongside volunteers. SLT now reaches beyond Islington into neighbouring boroughs. SLT is a lifeline to many and an expanding community of vital social support.
Please come along on Friday 8 December at 6.30pm to celebrate the success of this unique charity and enjoy our exciting programme! This event will take place at SLT’s home, the Jean Stokes Community Centre Carnoustie Drive, London N1 0DX.
