Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Stuart Low Trust!

Stuart Low Trust is a community-based charitable organisation. As our mission to reduce social isolation and empower people living with, or recovering from, mental health challenges continues to grow, so too does our need for talented, motivated, and committed volunteers.

We run our Arts, Nature and Wellbeing Programmes throughout the year, in four terms:

  • Winter Term: January-March
  • Spring Term: April-June
  • Summer Term: July-September
  • Autumn Term: October-December

For an insight into our activities, you can read our current Spring Term Activity Flyer.

We are now recruiting volunteers to support our Summer and Autumn Term of activities, running from August-December 2026.

Please read our Volunteer Roles & Application Pack and then apply by clicking the link below:

APPLY TO VOLUNTEER

Applications close on Monday 29th June 2026, 23:59 GMT.

Please note that some of the roles you might usually expect to see from SLT may not currently be listed in the Volunteer Roles & Application Pack, as they are already filled. However, availability can change over the coming weeks as volunteers’ circumstances shift, and additional spaces may open up. If you don’t see a role that matches your interests right now, we still encourage you to apply and let us know what you’re looking for.

Why Volunteer?

From welcoming and befriending participants to preparing food, creating art, going on nature walks, or supporting with administrative tasks and leafletting, we rely on volunteers in a wide range of roles.

Whatever your interests or experience, there’s a place for you on our team.

The Benefits:

  • It’s fun and enjoyable.
  • You can develop valuable skills, knowledge, and experience that support your future career goals, especially in the mental health and social care fields.
  • You receive training in safeguarding vulnerable adults and mental health awareness.
  • You will always be supported onsite at activities by an experienced member of staff.
  • You will be supported for the duration of your volunteering journey by the Volunteer Support Manager and/or Volunteer Supervisor.
  • Our activities are varied and dynamic – no two sessions are ever the same, and you will meet a wide range of people with different lived experiences.
  • You can make a real, positive difference for the wellbeing of your community.
  • You become part of a volunteer community and can receive regular supervision and support.
  • You become eligible for a reference from the Stuart Low Trust.

Volunteering with us means being part of a friendly, supportive environment where your time and contribution truly matter.

“The Trust really supports its volunteers. They make you feel welcome, part of a team, and that’s incredibly rewarding. The Trust also provides training, which is a great opportunity.”

“I have found, with my volunteering, that I have got more than I’ve given. There is something special about working with other people for a common cause.”
