“You’re Not Alone”: Christmas Appeal 2026

This Christmas, those four words and an act of kindness can be life-saving for someone living with mental health problems.

When people need others most

One in four of us will experience a mental health problem in any given year, yet the stigma means people feel alone, ashamed and judged, just when they most need others.

At Christmas it can be even harder. While others gather with family and friends, people who are lonely find that services are closed, their routines are gone, and loneliness is even harder to bear.

Without help at the right time, that loneliness can become a downward spiral towards crisis, even suicide.

That’s exactly why we are here

Stuart Low Trust is a lifeline to so many people in Islington and beyond. We’re here to make sure no one must face mental health challenges alone. Our support is always free. It’s accessible out-of-hours, when other services are closed, and open to anyone. No diagnosis needed, no referral, no waiting list, no need to pay.

People rely on us all year round. Therapeutic art classes, wellbeing-boosting walks and fun, social music nights give people practical support together with friendship, hope and meaning that can be life-saving for someone at risk.

This Christmas we will also be there with our usual activities and a festive celebration, alongside the ongoing support of our community.

The difference your gift could make

We will use your generous donation where it will make the biggest difference. A gift like yours could offer:

£20 could mean a warm welcome, personal support, and a hot meal at a Christmas event for someone who finds us for the first time.

£50 could fund specialist out-of-hours mental health support at an evening or weekend activity.

£100 could fund the hot food and drinks at a festive music night for 40 people this Christmas.
