Mission

Our mission is to ensure that local people, especially those experiencing social isolation or mental distress, have access to the range of facilities they need to successfully manage their lives. We know that help can be needed at any time. Our goal is the establishment of a 24-hour Resource Centre where people will be able to find help, not just at times of crisis but also in dealing with the problems that lead to crises. We are liaising with other local organisations to create a viable plan for 24-hour facilities. In 2003 extensive research with Islington people confirmed the need for such provision.

Our formal charitable objects are “the promotion, protection and preservation of public health and the relief of those suffering from mental, emotional or psychological illness or distress.”

“Inclusiveness” and “working together” are core values, which means that we welcome volunteers and attendees regardless of where they live or whether or not they have had a diagnosis of mental illness. In December 2003 we received a Primary Care Trust Award for our success in involving Service Users and Carers.
