The Wellbeing Project

What is the Stuart Low Trust's Wellbeing Project?

The Wellbeing Project is a place to get involved in a variety of social, leisure and therapeutic activities.  There is a low-cost cafe, providing delicious and nutritious meals (vegetarian options available), plus space to socialise.

When is it?

The Wellbeing Project is every Sunday from 6.30pm to 9.30pm.

Dates for August

The Wellbeing Project will be open on Sundays 1, 8 & 15 August 2010. Please note that there will be no Singing Group or Creative Writing Group on these dates. (Details of these two groups are below)

Following a break of two weeks, the Wellbeing Project will reopen on Sunday 5 September 2010, when the Singing Group and Creative Writing Group will both return.

Where is it?

The Wellbeing Project is based in the Crypt of St Mary's Church, Upper Street, Islington N1 2TX - just next to our Friday Evening Event venue!  The entrance to the Crypt is on the left side of St Mary's Church.  Disabled access is available.

Activities

Singing Group - every Sunday, St Mary's Crypt, 6.30 - 8.00pm    Cost: Free

"If you can walk you can dance, if you can talk you can sing" - Ghanaian proverb

This open-to-all singing group is led by the inspiring and versatile Jo de Waal.

Jo has worked with groups all over London for many years. The repertory will include light music, pop, folk and world music.

Everyone welcome - no musical experience necessary!

Creative Writing Group - every Sunday, St Mary's Crypt, 8.30 - 9.30pm    Cost: Free

Get the creative juices and the ink flowing in this friendly group, led by experienced facilitator Jimmy Ross

Low-Cost Cafe - every Sunday, St Mary's Crypt, hot meals served 8.00pm - 9.00pm    Cost: £2.00 per meal, or £2.50  including dessert  

Come and enjoy a hot, tasty nutritious meal, freshly prepared on the premises. Vegetarian option available. Tea and coffee served all evening (20p).

How can I get to the Wellbeing Project?

The Wellbeing Project takes place every Sunday in the Crypt of St Mary's Church, Upper Street, Islington N1 2TX.  The entrance to the Crypt is on the left side of St Mary's Church (our sign will be in the doorway). Disabled access is available.

St Mary's is a ten minute walk from Angel station (Northern Line) and Highbury and Islington station (Victoria and Moorgate lines).

Buses 4, 19, 30 and 43 stop outside the church. Buses 38, 56, 73, 341 & 476 stop in Essex Road, a short walk away.
