Stuart Low Trust’s Easy-Going BIG FUN RUN 11am, Sunday 29th October, Victoria Park

Why not join SLT for its first ever team fundraising event?

Not a runner? Not a problem! Whatever your age, ability or fitness level you’re invited –  along with your children, family members or neighbours – to take part in this fun 5k run – or walk – and raise sponsorship for the Stuart Low Trust!

You won’t be timed or pressured in any way – just a great day with lots of laughs in the beautiful surroundings of Victoria Park.

What’s in it for you? How about a smart SLT t-shirt to run in and a colourful Finishers Medal on the day – with the option of a bespoke, engraved insert to follow in the post !!

SLT will take care of your entry fee – we just ask you to pledge to raise a minimum of £175 in sponsorship.

To help you achieve this we’ve set up a Virgin Money Giving team page for you to circulate to your contacts by email or via social media. We’ll also supply paper sponsorship forms for those who’d like to fundraise the traditional way!

Plus we’ll be there on the day to cheer you on and look after you!

To join the SLT team just contact Robert Stuart on 020 7713 9304 email reply with the full names and ages of all those wishing to take part by noon on Tuesday 12 September!

We look forward to seeing you in October!!!

SLT Annual Celebration Marked by Laughter and Tears

It was a momentous Friday evening on 21 July when Stuart Low Trust founder member Virginia Low chaired her final AGM as part of our Annual Celebration and Volunteer Awards at St Mary’s Community Centre, Islington. Predictably – for everyone except Virginia, it seemed! – a few tears flowed, especially following a heartfelt tribute from long time SLT participant Joyce Dutch.

Any sadness soon turned to laughter thanks to the sleight of hand and ready wit of magician and psychological entertainer Gareth Foreman, this year’s Guest of Honour.

Virginia will remain as SLT’s Chair of Trustees until September and after retiring from the post will continue to be a familiar face at Friday Evening Events and to participate in the SLT Choir.

Our Annual Celebration and Volunteer Awards is an opportunity to acknowledge the crucial role of our amazing roster of volunteers, without whom we would be unable to run any of our events.

This year we set a record with 96 certificates awarded to Outstanding Volunteers across all our projects – including our Friday Evening Events, Choir, Gardening Project, Philosophy Forum, outings and more – plus two for our brilliant corporate partners the British Medical Journal and the Macquarie Infrastructure Debt Team, each of whose staff have gone above and beyond to support us in a whole host of areas, not least fundraising!
