Narrowboat Holidays and Trips

SLT’s narrowboat holidays offer the opportunity to enjoy the countryside and discover local history from a unique perspective!

Each year during the summer months we set out from City Road Basin, Islington aboard the “Angel II of Islington” for a series of trips and holidays along the waterways of London and the Lea Valley, ranging from leisurely day outings to Little Venice, Maida Vale to one and two night excursions into the Hertfordshire countryside. 

Those who wish can learn how to handle a narrowboat and work the locks along the canal, guided by an experienced skipper.

Prices include all main meals and refreshments. SLT’s canal boat trips are run in partnership with the Angel Community Canal Boat Trust. Please note that all participants are expected to help with preparing meals and/or clearing up afterwards, and with keeping the boat generally clean and ship-shape!
