A three-strong Stuart Low Trust team will be competing in The Big Fun Run in Victoria Park this Sunday 29th October 2017.
Virginia Low, who recently stepped down as SLT Chair, will be joined by SLT Trustee Kate Giblin and Joannis (Jo) Frangoullides, who has taken part in SLT events.
Jo, who suffers from severe osteoarthritis in one of his knees and will be joining Virginia in walking the 5k route, said:
I’ve been waiting for the opportunity to do something like this for charity – and as SLT is a charity I really believe in, it’s a double plus!
SLT has given me experiences I would never otherwise have had, such as visiting the Emirates Stadium and going on a canal boat trip. Their Friday Evening Events support so many local people – even if I don’t go, it’s a help knowing that it’s always there, 52 weeks a year!
Jo studied Cultural Anthropology in the USA and has had a successful career as a legal secretary in both the UK and the US. He isn’t planning to break any records on Sunday:
I may attempt a bit of a trot here and there, but I’m going to be following doctor’s orders and taking it very easy!
The team is well on its way to reaching it £2,000 sponsorship target – please help them achieve it by donating at this link http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/TeamSLT or by sending cheques made payable to the Stuart Low Trust to us at Office 3, Claremont, 24-27 White Lion Street, Islington N1 2TX.
