Lisa (name changed) has been attending Stuart Low Trust events for the past two to three years. She was referred to the Stuart Low Trust by the carers association which she is a part of. At first she was wary of meeting a whole new group of people but she soon found a welcoming group of regulars who come along to events almost every week. After a while she began to bring friends along to share in Stuart Low Trust events. Lisa explains how much she appreciates the opportunity to attend a wide variety of diverse and interesting talks which it would be very difficult to access anywhere else.
Lisa also talks about how the Friday evening sessions allow her to just ‘get away from everything’ and leave all her stresses at the door. She says that attending SLT is something to look forward to, a change in routine and an opportunity to think about something apart from everyday reality.
